After graduating from college I was unsure of what I would be doing with my Art History degree. Given my inexperienced resume but eagerness to start, the most viable, though not the cheapest option was to apply to internships.
Not being an American citizen and wanting (a bit too badly) to live in New York, I knew I had to seek sponsorship. It can be easy for foreigners to get sponsored by large corporations, but the competitive art world is a bit tougher in that area. After being hired as a curatorial intern at the American Federation of Arts, I knew I needed to find a sponsor, which is how I found International Arts and Artists Organization.
IA&A is an organization established in Washington DC, which has Cultural Exchange programs for people looking to start or continue a career in the arts in the United States. Even though they require a fee for their services, IA&A guides visa applicants throughout the entire process, providing the needed documentation to get your papers on time. Being a client myself, I can say that working with them has made the dreadful visa application process a lot smoother than it usually is.

If you need sponsorship to work at a cultural organization in the USA, you can visit their website here and find out more!
