Will Barnet recently caught my attention with his series of Silent Seasons, four drawings that capture the simplicity and comfort of domestic life throughout the four seasons. Barnet's works remind us of the comfort of home as his subjects sit comfortably in quiet spaces.

Born in Massachusetts in 1911, Barnet's 90 year artistic career does not lack exploration of different mediums and styles. Some of Barnet's techniques include watercolors, painting, drawing and printing. Throughout his work we perceive the vestiges of various artistic movements of the 20th century including social realism, Modernism, Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism. The Silent Season's series done in the 1970's shows Barnet's return to figurative painting and a minimalist representational approach to drawing. The works shown below are the result of a harmony between lines and solid colors.
